Speaker 1:

This is Latina's State of Mind, a podcast created by Latinas for all audiences, where we can share our experiences about love, life and everything in between.

Speaker 2:

Hello and welcome to another episode of Latina's State of Mind. How are you, ladies? I'm doing well.

Speaker 1:

So so good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm a little spooked by this. I know Today we're talking about superstitions.

Speaker 1:

Very superstitions.

Speaker 2:

So we're all Mexican, we come from a Mexican background. So, our superstitions are mostly Mexican.

Speaker 3:

I know.

Speaker 2:

Saniya, your husband is not.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so you might have others that we haven't heard of, so he is Hispanic. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

He's Puerto Rican, dominican black.

Speaker 2:

Beautiful, love it.

Speaker 1:

So to start off, I guess the biggest one, yes, the mother of the mother, of the mother, especially for Mexicans.

Speaker 3:

Yes, which one is it?

Speaker 1:

Diana, I'm disappointed in your Mexican.

Speaker 3:

Maldeojo yes.

Speaker 1:

People lie.

Speaker 3:

Is that what it?

Speaker 2:

would be. Yeah, maldeojo, maldeojo.

Speaker 1:

What have you guys heard about it? Do you guys believe in it?

Speaker 2:

Yes, I want to say no, but I do things to prevent it. So maybe yes, Just think yes, To be on the same side.

Speaker 3:

I'm not superstitions, but I'm a little superstitious.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, exactly.

Speaker 3:

Love.

Speaker 1:

Superstition.

Speaker 2:

Love All of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so Maldeojo for Mexicans is like a huge deal.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, especially for babies.

Speaker 1:

I think for everything.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I grew up believing that if somebody has beautiful hair and you don't touch it, their hair is going to fall off yeah. And if you see somebody that has beautiful hair and you have the urge to touch it, you need to touch it yeah. Or if you see a baby and you don't touch the baby, you're going to make that baby sick.

Speaker 3:

That's the one that I heard, or like. I wasn't specific, Ours isn't. My belief isn't specific to the hair, but if you are intensely looking at an individual and you don't something to interact with them and or touch them, that's when you can make them, give them Maldeojo.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I've heard about the hair, I mean eyelashes. I think that's a big one. If you don't touch them, they're gone off.

Speaker 1:

And then, you like, we put little red, little red bracelets on the babies and on ourselves to protect us. My plants at work all have red on them, like red ribbons are written on them.

Speaker 3:

My vehicle has a red ribbon. Cause, I thought, cause I got it fairly new and so I thought you know you never know.

Speaker 1:

Just in case, just in case.

Speaker 3:

And I do. I have a oh my gosh, I have a lot actually and I have a little red ribbon above my entryway cause it protects you from bad vibes For those listening.

Speaker 2:

she's wrapped in a red ribbon right now.

Speaker 1:

No, she walks around.

Speaker 3:

But I do have my little red bracelet.

Speaker 2:

She does, yeah, she does.

Speaker 1:

Isn't that crazy? Like I seriously was like, because people I have like a display of plants at work and people were always like looking at them and trying to touch them and I was just like but I really believe that like they were making my plants die, so I went in like convince one of the girls that also has one of the plants there to buy us some red ribbon if she did, and all our plants have red ribbons now and have they died.

Speaker 2:

No, they're actually thriving, exactly, yeah, so it's like against envy and bad vibes and being bad vibes. And.

Speaker 3:

I do specifically believe in that that you could be protected by that, because you know, even April's intense looks with bad intentions. I think it can affect a plant or a human being, Cause I mean you're putting that out there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and you're really believing like vibes and stuff. So yeah, you have to kind of believe so it makes sense that you protect yourself against Malo.

Speaker 3:

Wrap yourself up with a bracelet.

Speaker 1:

We're working on it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we're working on it. It's in progress.

Speaker 2:

I'll stay home in the meantime. She's never leaving.

Speaker 3:

Call work. I'm going to stay home because I'm not protected. I have a wish of my bracelet.

Speaker 2:

What other things have you guys heard of? Or? What are other superstitions that you guys.

Speaker 3:

So also correlated with a bracelet if you lose it, if it rips, if it breaks, whatever, it means that someone was trying to harm you.

Speaker 2:

That's interesting. I told you guys that's actually happened to me because I used to have one before.

Speaker 3:

It happened to me once as well and I just it just disappeared. I thought I was walking with it putting, trying to put it on and then poof, I don't know it's gone and like I was in like one area that it just I don't know. It was a little spooky to me because I was like why didn't I find it if I was just in one specific area?

Speaker 1:

See, for me it was really creepy because I was in a really weird situation at work and this person just like really did not like me and it was like really obvious and she was really like clear about it. So hard to believe.

Speaker 3:

I know I'm like who did this? I will find them.

Speaker 1:

But I used to always wear a little, my little red bracelet and then it started to get like really loose really fast. And then I lost it and I was like, oh, maybe I just had been wearing it for a really long time. And then my mom, she like made me another one the next day. Literally like two days later that thing was gone. So like every time I was at work it would just start to like loosen up and that never happened. Like there were times where I would just wear those for like months and months and never had any issues with them Interesting.

Speaker 2:

So Do you?

Speaker 3:

believe in that, do you?

Speaker 2:

think that's Well. Like I was saying, I believe in vibes, so I think there has to be a way to protect yourself. I used to have a red bracelet that something happened to it. But, I mean it doesn't hurt.

Speaker 1:

Just in case, right, just in case. Just put it on, throw it on. What about? I am like a psycho about this one about never putting your purse on the floor. Yes, yeah.

Speaker 2:

My mom would yell at me if I ever did that.

Speaker 1:

Like I will not. I will not, I will be uncomfortable. Yes, if I have a purse, I will put it on. If there's not a place to put it, that purse does not touch the ground.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I got someone. My mom taught me that from a young age. Yeah, you know, like if I was going to get her purse, if I was going to put it away, never on the floor.

Speaker 2:

And because it's bad luck, right Like it's, you're going to lose your money. Lose your money, correct yeah.

Speaker 3:

And I mean, is it cleanliness related to cleanliness also? But supposedly you're going to lose your money if you put it, your purse, on the floor and I'm not about to lose money.

Speaker 1:

So just in case I'm not putting it on the floor. We're already struggling out here. Yeah exactly, can't lose anymore.

Speaker 3:

Something that you guys mentioned that I didn't know about was sweeping a woman's feet Single woman's, single woman's feet. Why is that? Are you just not going to get married, or something?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's what I. I've been like when I was single, like there would always be like don't sweep your feet, Like you won't get married, OK.

Speaker 3:

I've never heard of that. Yeah, I've heard of that too.

Speaker 2:

Oh it's supposed to be like bad luck or something.

Speaker 3:

Oh, shit, I'm going to stop cleaning.

Speaker 2:

We go visit her house with some mess?

Speaker 3:

No, you're not going to make it in because my red bow yeah, whatever.

Speaker 1:

Have the best vibes?

Speaker 3:

No really, you guys are invited.

Speaker 2:

She's like maybe.

Speaker 3:

No, you guys are invited. Ok, I'm sorry. I'm explicitly talking to Nancy and Senna.

Speaker 1:

Jerome's out, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Girls only, girls only. There's other superstitions that I think are not just for our culture. I'm reading one here. It's as if the groom sees the bride or the dress before the wedding. They are doomed, doomed.

Speaker 3:

I think that's not just our culture, right? I think I've seen it. No, that's. I think that's practiced mostly. I think it's like a wedding.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like a wedding superstition, wedding ritual superstition.

Speaker 2:

Do you guys believe in it?

Speaker 3:

No, I don't think so I feel like, honestly myself, I would rather have my partner help me out, shoot the dress.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I didn't see Jerome. I didn't let Jerome see my dress. No, okay, no.

Speaker 2:

But just for the surprise.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, more than anything Okay.

Speaker 1:

But, I did let him see me before the wedding because we had to do pictures before the wedding and then you have to take it off after.

Speaker 2:

Yeah exactly.

Speaker 1:

He needed to know what he was working with. Understandable.

Speaker 3:

Okay, but wedding related, I've heard when you get your dress gets dirty or that just means that you're just, it's gonna be a bad marriage with your dude as well, or if it's raining when you get married and heard.

Speaker 2:

I never heard about that one.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I've heard that when you get married and there's rain, that that's good luck.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, interesting yeah.

Speaker 1:

And about the dress. I think that's a bunch of bull crap, superstition, because there's no way to keep a white dress clean no way. I tried so hard to keep that dress clean and it was impossible. Okay, let's throw that one out the window.

Speaker 3:

That's not true. It's not true.

Speaker 2:

Don't believe it.

Speaker 3:

No, Okay, but something that I also. I kind of like this and I try to communicate back. I was seeing witches.

Speaker 2:

My mom would say that too. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

How would she feel if I told her that I was trying to communicate back she?

Speaker 2:

hated it. She thought it was scary.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she said, when we lived in Mexico there was one who would like be outside our house and she thought it was someone trying to harm us Okay, okay. Like sending a bad message or something.

Speaker 3:

See, I see it like the perspective, like, oh, someone's trying to pass along a message, you know like yeah, and she thought it was negative and she told me that's what her mom told her.

Speaker 2:

Maybe it's kind of like so I don't.

Speaker 3:

I don't love them, but I think they're really cool and they're very impressive. Yeah, so I'm like you know what? Maybe it depends on the feeling that you get when you see it. That's true, yeah, being able to like. If you feel like a negative vibe, maybe stay away.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I haven't felt that before, so you communicate with them. I feel like it's hard for me to. I'm like, hey, honestly, if it's a bird and it comes near me, I'm like you try and tell me something, are you? Do you want to share something with me?

Speaker 2:

Like.

Speaker 3:

I just ask.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

And I know they're not going to talk back to me.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I was going to ask that because if you said yes, then that'd be fine.

Speaker 3:

No yeah, run yeah. No, now, that would throw me off.

Speaker 2:

No, but you get like a feeling or a vibe or something.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm like, do you like, is there something that you want to share with me? Especially when I see like doves, I'm like, oh yeah, I don't know, I feel like that's different. It's not. It's rare to see those. I'm like.

Speaker 1:

I always ask. I feel like it's hard for me to relate animals to like supernatural things. I understand the lore and all that stuff. I feel like, for example, black cats. People hate them because they think the worst of them and I hate that. So like I hate that Alice have that rep too. Yeah, I think black cats are lucky.

Speaker 3:

I know I love like cats. Oh, my God, you don't like cats.

Speaker 1:

They're not my favorite but say I would never like heard a black cat.

Speaker 2:

No, I wouldn't have heard one because it's black.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm thinking of that video where it's like there's this guy trying to help a regular colored kitty, I guess, and it's like, oh, patting it, and then it, and then it hands over to a black cat. Stop resisting. Hands against the wall.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God. Anyways, that's what I'm thinking about, and we are done. That needs to be cut off.

Speaker 2:

Well, no to the editor no to the editor.

Speaker 1:

That's what I was about to say.

Speaker 3:

Okay, well, something I don't know, if you guys hope I have something that I want to mention as well. Mm, hmm, the mirrors, the broken mirrors breaking a mirror, mm hmm. Seven years of bad luck. Yes, have you heard that before?

Speaker 1:

I have. Yeah, I have that. I have heard that too and I thought it was if you kept the mirror, but I guess I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I've heard it.

Speaker 3:

If you break, it If you break it, mm. Hmm, I know Scary. Yeah, I have broken before and I was like shit.

Speaker 2:

How long ago was it?

Speaker 3:

It was a couple of years ago, okay.

Speaker 2:

So you have like five more to go.

Speaker 3:

God, it was way more than that.

Speaker 2:

I was like were you wearing your red bracelet?

Speaker 3:

No, no this was Diana, I was no, this was a really long time ago. I was like 13.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, 14. You're already yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's been seven years. Have you guys heard about walking under a like a ladder? Yes, bad luck, bad luck.

Speaker 3:

I don't understand that one, though. Is it because, like what, if a person falls on you, I don't understand why it's bad luck. I don't know where it comes from, yeah, but.

Speaker 2:

I've heard it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you don't do that. I never do it, just in case Same.

Speaker 2:

I want to talk about something really spooky, okay.

Speaker 3:

It's called well in Spanish, you say in Tierra's, which is could be considered treasures, maybe like something that is hidden, and so I was just talking to about my family, about this is how certain individuals will see the energy of this, of this thing, of this treasure. We'll just call it treasure. They'll see the energy of it, but only like many people can see it, possibly, but only certain people will have access to it. And if you go with bad intentions, you won't be able to like break the ground, you won't be able to dig it, you won't be able to reach it, and but like other individuals with go with like more, maybe more curiosity or better intentions to do something better with whatever you're going to find, then you'll have be able to find it and have access to it. That's interesting.

Speaker 2:

I've never heard of that before.

Speaker 1:

I have heard a lot about like there's this a lot, there's this, laura, in like the areas where I grew up in Mexico, that there's like a lot of treasures that the Spaniards left from, like that they took from the Aztecs, and stuff around the country, and so like they're they're hidden all over the country and like the people that try to find them if they do find them and take them out without being chosen to be to take them out that they die or like their family gets cursed or something like that. Yeah, so I have heard stuff like that, yeah.

Speaker 3:

I'm also there's also like a leaving something behind, I think, if it's like something related to indigenous people as well, they have not all of all indigenous groups, I guess, have this belief, but a lot of them like you, like you can take this, but you have to leave something behind, something of yours, and if you don't do that, if you don't make a trade, that's when you're cursed as well.

Speaker 3:

You will have a very unlucky and unfortunate life. And I mean, yeah, if I find that very believable because I believe in curses, you guys believe in curses.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Um, I don't know if I believe in curses Really, yeah. I worked it up. I don't hold any back. Why do you guys believe? What do you believe about it?

Speaker 1:

I think, just like you were talking about energy being like like some people have bad vibes and stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess, in that sense I would believe it, I think that people can curse other people. Like just send you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just like really bad Very evil people, yeah, really bad and like there's so many like things that we don't know about. So like I can never discard it, like I can never be, like hmm, now it's not true, because you don't know. And like, yeah, no, you're right. So, energy wise and like other things. I think yeah.

Speaker 3:

Oh, definitely. There's very evil people out there who do this purposely, who think these things purposely.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

And that's a little too spooky for me, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess you're right, Cause I do believe in like sending out good energy and receiving it, but then if it's the other way around, if it's negative, then then it could be a curse. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 3:

There's also what is it called black and white voodoo.

Speaker 1:

Some magic or white magic.

Speaker 2:

I believe it is.

Speaker 3:

So that's the, that's like the good version. But then there's the people that have access to the black voodoo, black magic, and I don't know. I feel like it's hard to believe in it, because, I mean, it's hard to believe in magic, but you can send, I don't know. I feel like you can do certain treaties with certain individuals or spirits or whatever, to cause harm.

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 3:

I'd love to visit what's it called Louisiana To go, it's so spooky.

Speaker 1:

I'd like to. I loved it, new Orleans so I was in New Orleans and they have these, so you can take a tour of a cemetery. That's very popular because they're so unique. Everybody's buried above ground because New Orleans is so low. Water level wise. But they have these voodoo priests's place. What are they called? Like the place where they they buried them?

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And they have iPhones and they have a bunch of stuff I the place where they were buried.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And the Lord is if you take something, they'll come get it from you so people never take anything that other people leave as a gift to them.

Speaker 2:

Like an offering as an offering.

Speaker 1:

So you'll go there, you'll, you'll walk around the cemetery and you'll see like jewelry. You'll see like random, Like seriously, there was an iPhone left there, yeah, and nobody touched it. Like people did not touch it. There was some Mardi Gras beads, there was like a bunch of stuff that people would just leave there. But the Lord is, if you take it, they'll come get it because it doesn't belong to you. Oh yeah because, it was gifted to the other spirit Markings all over their their gravesite. Like it's spooky, but it was really interesting.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's something that I want to.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that'd be super cool to go visit and learn more about.

Speaker 3:

Yeah yeah, that's also. Isn't that a thing in Hawaii, when you can't take any like lava rocks or any basically rocks from Hawaii, because it can give you bad luck for taking it? But I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, letting me know Right.

Speaker 3:

I wanted to bring some sand oh well, oh, I had a sand for Hawaii, diana. I didn't take it myself, it was gifted to me Same. Yeah, I got rid of it. No, I don't know. I hope that helped me. Yeah, I hope so.

Speaker 1:

I either helped you or cursed you, even more.

Speaker 3:

Well, I think it canceled me out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Because, I'll just say that exactly how it works.

Speaker 3:

Supposedly like my dad's side of the family is cursed. I don't really believe in it. I mean, you never know. So maybe that canceled out. So maybe now I'm good OK.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, ok, plant ladies. We love our all of their. Is that how you say?

Speaker 3:

And.

Speaker 1:

I've always heard that if somebody comes in with bad vibes they can kill your all of their plant.

Speaker 2:

I've heard that too, and I'm not a plant lady, but my mom is, and she does say that all the time.

Speaker 3:

I did not know that and my LOS, I've always died, so do you think it was it me?

Speaker 1:

I don't think so, because we at one point you said you're always thriving, it can be you, and it had a bunch of babies and I was expecting to get a baby.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I had a bunch of babies and I was starting to propagate them. I was trying to like move them out into their own separate thing and then all of a sudden I don't know who visited because it was a while ago, but all of a sudden they were dead and like they were basically rotting. And I know exactly and I'm like like all of a sudden, I don't know, I don't know if it was you know me as someone else putting water, too much water in there, over watering it, or if it was really like a bad intentions You're going to have to keep a log of who visits your house.

Speaker 3:

I don't have any more, alice, because they're all dead.

Speaker 1:

Next time you have to put a little red.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, Least on red ribbon around my shirt.

Speaker 3:

I have a red. I have a red ribbon about something about like somewhere somewhere else in my house, but I can't remember. I think I put it in a plant Trying to save it.

Speaker 1:

I know I know, oh, man, one of the things I was telling you guys, which I always thought it was fun as a kid like if we ever took our nieces and nephews when they were babies, to like rivers or stuff like that, like we would chant this song so that they wouldn't be left, like their spirits wouldn't be left behind, and I find this very spooky.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that is very spooky, but I remember being a kid and I thought it was so cool that we would sing this song and like we would scream it the entire way up to the car, wherever we were at, so like to spook out the, the how do you say Dwendes in English?

Speaker 3:

Dwarfs no, no, sorry, no elves.

Speaker 1:

To spook out the elves so they wouldn't take the soul of the baby. That's so scary.

Speaker 3:

OK, can you sing it to us? No, no, anyways, you know, my grandma said that one time she saw elves come out of my room.

Speaker 1:

I just couldn't hear anything about elves in Mexico a lot. Yeah that's a big thing In northern Mexico, like Chihuahua.

Speaker 3:

I am from Chihuahua. That's weird.

Speaker 2:

You're from Chihuahua, I'm from Chihuahua.

Speaker 3:

What? And you've never heard of this one, the thing.

Speaker 2:

Just kidding. Yeah, I've heard.

Speaker 3:

You have.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they're bad.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, I keep hearing these things.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I thought they were just like no, they're supposed to be bad. Yeah, they're not very nice.

Speaker 3:

So what were they doing in my room? That's why I asked. So maybe they were leaving, because, like it was OK.

Speaker 1:

They were like not this one.

Speaker 3:

This one's evil, and that's why you're so She'll be fine, they're like nope.

Speaker 3:

OK, I am going to open up about this. So I got a tarot card. I decided to become a little bit more spiritual in this sense. So I got a tarot card. I got a tarot card and I also got a magic eight ball Because and I don't know if playing around with a tarot card opened up something because I saw a spirit, a shadow.

Speaker 3:

We're going to call it a shadow because it was. It looked like a shadow, it's a shadow, and it was this tall individual. And I know, I know I'm like is this? No, but like I didn't feel a bad vibe for this shadow, I didn't feel anything bad from it. So I was like maybe it's just there, yeah, and it never. It kind of just looked at me sometimes and I looked back and I was like what's up, do you want? And that's when I pulled out the magic eight ball and I was like hey, are you nice? And it said like no response at this time or something like that. And I asked again because I was like I need to know and it said no response again.

Speaker 3:

So I don't know. My thing was like it's just there. It was just, I don't know what it wanted.

Speaker 2:

You opened something up when you I don't know I heard it can happen with like a Ouija board.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I will not touch a Ouija board, ever, ever.

Speaker 3:

I've been intrigued. I'm not going to lie, yeah, but I am too spooked to do it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't think I would do it either.

Speaker 1:

No, Like we play this game called Phasmophobia and I will, like they have, like you basically go and like, go into houses and go ghost hunting and it's fun, but it's creepy as heck, you're bad, but there's always like a Ouija board that you can use to communicate with the spirits in the house. I will never come, even in the video game I'm like, no, no.

Speaker 3:

No, I'm not taking any chances. Nope, pass yeah.

Speaker 3:

But I also see this other shadow and this one this one's, I think is a Native American woman, because I don't know, I just I just feel it. I just feel that it's Native American. I think I had a dream about it actually. That's why I knew, yeah, and she just warns. At least she just warned me about something. You're creeping me out. I'm sorry, but it's not creepy. You just like got to be open to it. If it happens, it happens. No, oh, my gosh, there was a flash, by the way, to make to. You know, give some context. We are in a very dark room. We are only illuminated by my laptop and the little lights from our microphones.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so we wanted to make it extra spooky, I know.

Speaker 3:

So we are feeling I'm feeling a little chill moment yeah.

Speaker 1:

Our meal. We started with superstitions and went to something else.

Speaker 3:

But do you think that? Can tarot card open that up? I think that's a superstition for sure.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think it's an energy thing, like we, okay, you know, like, yeah, like that's how you read tarot, like based off of energy.

Speaker 3:

So maybe, and I haven't seen them in my new place. This was back in my old place, I guess. So I don't know if I kind of attached them to that place where we went to visit. Which one did you visit without saying too much information?

Speaker 1:

The really nice place oh no Okay.

Speaker 2:

This was how did you not warn us about this before coming in?

Speaker 3:

No, I also. Okay, so the thing. So here's the thing. What if that is true? In that place, I did have my little red bow as well. So what if I didn't welcome them into this, that new place, by putting that up? Maybe what? If what if and kind of? I kind of felt bad about it too, because like what if they were there to like help me, even though they never based on the magic eight ball. They never said they were there to help me or to be nice, but not.

Speaker 2:

It's so creepy.

Speaker 3:

They never said anything.

Speaker 2:

The reason I want to communicate with you?

Speaker 3:

I don't think so Because, like the response was always like, not at this time. I'm intrigued about the man Really. I think it was. It gave me like really sad vibes.

Speaker 3:

But it was like a tall very tall man, very tall man, and he had to, like he had like a little hunch because he had. I think it was because he had to always be hunching down because he was so tall, because he was all tall. Yeah, you know how like tall people are, like whenever they're too tall, they kind of like make themselves seem smaller. I think that's what this person like kind of went through.

Speaker 2:

Did you get a race from this individual?

Speaker 3:

No, I thought I'm pretty sure they were. No, I'm not sure, but I think they were white, like not colored, basically Because but I'm not sure, because it's just a shadow, but that but it was like old timey me, because they had a fedora style.

Speaker 1:

So creepy why.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't.

Speaker 3:

Yes, it's creepy, but.

Speaker 2:

I didn't give you bad vibes. They just didn't want to communicate with you.

Speaker 3:

Exactly, they were just there and they did give me sad vibes, though I know which. I felt really bad and that's why I didn't like kick about or anything like that, because I was like maybe I just want to see another human.

Speaker 2:

I don't know Exactly. I would have said bye, bye.

Speaker 3:

You.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry. I want to come for you, but I can't keep you company. Bye, next time. I'll give him your address. But, I know we'll hang out with you, okay, but something that I put out there.

Speaker 3:

I was like hey, like there's no need to tar me, there's no need to do, I'm not here to bother you, but please don't bother me, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I've heard that before in one of the podcasts that I listened to, morbid. They always say like try to communicate with them and let them like you're not welcomed or you are in your case.

Speaker 3:

But just like they were welcome, they just weren't welcome to her. Yeah, I like that, actually, I feel like it's okay to put that boundary. Yeah, you know what? It's really weird that I'm okay with setting that boundary with, like, random spirits but now with people, but I struggle with human life people. That's really weird. And then the Native American woman just warned me. She just woke me up by staring at me.

Speaker 2:

That's wild, so crazy yeah.

Speaker 3:

Have you guys ever experienced anything like this, or is it just me?

Speaker 1:

No, I had some stuff happen.

Speaker 3:

Any shadow people experiences.

Speaker 1:

No, you know, I'll be. So. One day when we ran out I was out with my friends and that day I was DD, so it was around like three something when I got home, because I was dropping people off and stuff, and so I parked my car and it was like kind of rainy and I was walking into my house and I saw these little tiny footsteps wet footsteps that were like going towards the door but they were like fresh, like like somebody had just stepped on like the water and like walked over to the house and I was like why is my mom outside at three o'clock in the morning walking without shoes?

Speaker 2:

I'm sorry, that was me now.

Speaker 1:

And no, it wasn't my mom or grandma Did you ask.

Speaker 3:

They were snoring, oh it's not like it's going to be, like these are fresh. Yeah, they're snoring. There's no way.

Speaker 1:

And my mom does not step foot outside without shoes. Oh, but not so yeah, it was just creepy. And then after that I kind of was like they were not big enough to be like a mill's feet, they were just like small little like.

Speaker 3:

So I was just like oh, do you think it was a lost soul? I?

Speaker 1:

don't know, but it was so creepy that is creepy.

Speaker 3:

No, I'm getting like little chills. I hope you guys listened to this in a dark room as well.

Speaker 1:

We should take this to a little lighter version.

Speaker 2:

Wait, do you have a story?

Speaker 1:

to tell. Nancy a spoopy story?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she's trying to line it up. One time my mom and I went to a work event that she had. It was like a party at a hotel the hotel's supposed to be haunted and that's where she worked and we took a back entrance and I remember I was walking in and we both saw a shadow through the mirror Like it was someone walking behind us, and we turned around and there was no one there and I went to look and there was no one there and no one was using that entrance. She could because she worked there and we had no idea who it was.

Speaker 3:

You had no explanation, no, so that was so super creepy and we still like talk about it. We're like oh it made an impression. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It was a long time ago.

Speaker 3:

Dang. Does she ever? Do you know if she ever encountered anything else in that hotel? A lot of things.

Speaker 2:

A lot of things, yeah, she did, and that just there. I feel like my mom has had a lot of experiences that she's shared with us.

Speaker 1:

We should have our moms coming down.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god, I think it's scary.

Speaker 1:

Ooh, my mom has a lot of scary stories. I like how it's not too, let's do it.

Speaker 3:

Let's do it. Let's do it. I don't know if my mom will, but we'll listen yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, spoopy's episode is Spanish.

Speaker 3:

Oh, si, si at all.

Speaker 2:

It'd be great oh man, that would be fun.

Speaker 3:

Let's go. Oh my gosh. The only other time that I experienced it was in a hospital, but I thought that was normal.

Speaker 2:

In a hospital.

Speaker 3:

Because I mean, yeah, because I mean People die there. Yeah, exactly so it's normal. I don't know if it's normal, but it's. I feel like it was more explainable to see something like that at the hospital.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah. My mom said one time she was at a hospital with someone who was staying there Like they were ill and a doctor came in and did something. They never talked or anything, but they helped them, somehow, ended up leaving. And then another doctor came in and they were like, why did you guys do this? And they were like, oh, it was the other doctor. Like and they were like I'm the only doctor who's here. So my mom talks about that sometimes and I was like what?

Speaker 3:

What Hell? Yeah, especially a whole interaction. Yeah, that person never talked, it was like a man.

Speaker 2:

And one of my aunts is always like did you guys see if they were, if like you could see their feet? Cause supposedly, if you can see a ghost, you can't see feet. But my mom said she didn't look.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, cause at that point you're like focused on.

Speaker 2:

Do you think it's a real person? Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3:

You're not going to be checking for those things.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it's spoopy.

Speaker 3:

It's spoopy.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'm scared. Let's go to my favorite segment. I'm ready for some of that. Diana's daily shit.

Speaker 3:

Okay, we're going to change it up.

Speaker 1:

We're going to lighten it up, just a little bit. Okay, lighten it up.

Speaker 3:

Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

Oh gosh.

Speaker 3:

It's not like scary related.

Speaker 3:

But, it can be scary because the lack of common sense of that piece some people don't have, and it's so confusing. It's like how people don't I don't know, like especially whenever you're trying to work something like a piece of technology, and you either refuse to work through this or work with that piece of technology, or don't try something else, don't try something different, and I feel like this can lack of common sense. Can you know? Take many, many, many, many, many many different situations. It's just annoying. It's just annoying when people don't know how to work through something. They don't try something else. They. I understand that. You know sometimes things are difficult, but if you don't try other things, how are you going to find out?

Speaker 2:

I mean don't fuck around and find out, but like Fuck around A little bit and find out Just a little bit.

Speaker 3:

There's levels to this.

Speaker 2:

The fuck around-ish, yeah, and the find out.

Speaker 3:

And the func the finding out and the find-ditty. There's levels to it.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so I mean level 10.

Speaker 1:

I feel like that's I'm with you on the common sense thing. Like, yeah, I've met some very-. Do you think it's on purpose? I think so honestly. Like I've met some people that have some like really high IQs and are like supposed to be super smart and their common sense is not there. And you're like is it because you're book smart that you're? Common sense stupid or like-.

Speaker 3:

I think that has to be it.

Speaker 2:

What is it? Maybe they're it can be. Yeah, it all went to your book smartness.

Speaker 1:

I got hurt a little bit.

Speaker 2:

I don't think you have-.

Speaker 1:

No, I think you have really good common sense. I think I'm-.

Speaker 2:

Book smart and street smart. I think I have both, and that's perfectly fine.

Speaker 3:

Could I say it with a straight face? No, she couldn't. No, but I think I don't know. I feel like sometimes people do it on purpose, Because they don't want to-.

Speaker 1:

Do the extra work.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, they don't want to go further, they don't want to do the extra work. So they're like, oh, I'm going to act like I don't know how to do this, so the next individual knows how to do this. Is this how people get in? What is it like? Positions of power? Probably by being stupid, and like the smart person, the individual that actually belongs there. He like gets pushed back because they actually like do the work.

Speaker 2:

It happens a lot more than it should, unfortunately.

Speaker 3:

Unfortunately. Yeah, what the heck, what the heck.

Speaker 1:

We don't like this.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we don't like this. How do we fix it? Put a hex on them, but you know what kind of hex I would put on them? What Be able to like? Have common sense?

Speaker 1:

Here's your common sense.

Speaker 2:

Now you get to live like the rest of us, who do have some common sense.

Speaker 1:

Look at this.

Speaker 2:

New world for you. You're welcome.

Speaker 3:

You're being pushed into this. I like it. I support that Exactly. See, this is the kind of shit that I would do if I had powers. Maybe I don't have from for some reason, but you know, if I did.

Speaker 1:

For some reason. Can you imagine Diana with all the power.

Speaker 3:

I love it.

Speaker 2:

I think the scarier than this Stories we were talking about before.

Speaker 1:

Let's go back to the scary story. You don't want to imagine me at all.

Speaker 3:

Whatever, that's all right, as long as.

Speaker 2:

I guess I'm on your good side.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, exactly that's for you to work out. That's not me for figuring out.

Speaker 2:

You get to work that out, you get to work out. I think I'll do it Full moon.

Speaker 3:

See, this is why I don't get things yeah.

Speaker 2:

Abuse of power.

Speaker 1:

Point five seconds into this Mine.

Speaker 3:

Everything, just like people abuse the lack of common sense.

Speaker 1:

You would abuse the power.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Don't give her the power.

Speaker 1:

No please give me the power. Anyways, any closing thoughts about superstition.

Speaker 3:

There's no harm in believing them.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't think so yeah.

Speaker 2:

I think there's no harm in trying to protect yourself from any bad energies or bad vibes.

Speaker 1:

I think as long as it's done with common sense.

Speaker 3:

And good intentions.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, good intentions, why not?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think that's probably the key.

Speaker 3:

So are we willing to explore more of the spiritual side? Yeah, do you want me to bring my tarot and magic eight-pole?

Speaker 1:

I don't know about the magic eight-pole.

Speaker 3:

Why not?

Speaker 1:

Let's find some other way. Not the Ouija board, though.

Speaker 3:

No, not the Ouija board, but it's like the magic eight-pole. It's easy, because I mean you just ask questions to the world.

Speaker 1:

That's like a lot like the Ouija board.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I think I'm going to be sick that day.

Speaker 1:

But I am so more than down to do another spoopy episode.

Speaker 3:

Ooh spoopy.

Speaker 2:

We want to do it out in the wild, so we should really do that, ok.

Speaker 3:

You guys. I'm low key scared because I've had a couple of warnings not to go out in the wild and do this.

Speaker 1:

OK, then we're not doing this.

Speaker 3:

Exactly Because if you hear your name, don't go towards it.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if I can say that oh my gosh OK.

Speaker 3:

Anything calling you anything like that, don't go towards it, yeah don't do that Because I mean, it could be a spirit, it could be just a kidnapper.

Speaker 1:

Use your common sense. Go in a circling back. Yeah, go back.

Speaker 3:

Don't do what the scary movies do. No, really, you know what I'm the kind of person to go towards it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm never going to be the person to go towards it. I'd be like bye Me.

Speaker 3:

But see, I would work as a warning towards you guys. If I die, I would yell out hey, I'm dying.

Speaker 1:

That's so unfair, because we're not going to let you die. We're going to have to go try to rescue you. No, that's when you, I would be gone. That's exactly that's why you're so I wouldn't. That's the thing. You killed me.

Speaker 3:

See, I would. That's a warning for you to like go Go. I couldn't. I'd be like that's my friend, that's OK, I'll come back and visit you. No, ha ha, ha ha ha, that was such an evil laugh. If you harm me, I will come back and visit you.

Speaker 1:

If you ever feel you would have to visit Nancy because she didn't go back to save you, I'd be OK.

Speaker 2:

She didn't. She did it for me. She did it so I could save myself. Yeah, I would come back for you.

Speaker 3:

I would come back for you, you see, because I was trying to be nice. Well, I would just say, hey, thank you. Ok, don't do that anymore.

Speaker 1:

Don't do that again. Use your common sense.

Speaker 3:

Common sense Save yourself, yeah, but I'm coming back. Oh Jesus, yeah, if you feel your feet being pulled. No, you're so mean I know I'm sorry, but I am going to make sure I come back. I got it.

Speaker 1:

Thank you so much for listening.

Speaker 2:

I hope you really like this conversation so we can have another one and share some scary stories with us yes we would love to hear all of it or some superstitions.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 1:

So we can adopt them immediately.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 3:

Don't forget them.
