Speaker 1:

This is Latina's State of Mind, a podcast created by Latinas for all audiences, where we can share our experiences about love, life and everything in between. Hello, hello and welcome to our second season of Latina's State of Mind. Check your titties, do it. You know what I really miss you guys. We've seen each other, but I miss recording.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's a different experience.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you never know what Diana's gonna say I think that's interesting.

Speaker 2:

You're welcome.

Speaker 1:

So we're excited about this season. I think we have a lot of high hopes for it. Is that right? Yes, yeah, and we just want to interact more with our listeners. We do when they get to know you guys and see what you want to listen to and maybe have you come hang out with us.

Speaker 2:

No, it depends who they are.

Speaker 1:

If they bring something specifically Diana, something. What would you need? Little gifts.

Speaker 2:

Okay, little cute gifts. Money, money would be nice. Visa cards I like raccoons.

Speaker 1:

Okay, they still bring a raccoon.

Speaker 2:

If it's trained and it has its rabies shots.

Speaker 1:

They have little hands and they're so creepy.

Speaker 2:

They're cute. That's the loveliest part, no, the cutest part. Have you seen this?

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, her wallpaper is a raccoon.

Speaker 3:

It's really cute. Actually, that's really really cute, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2:

Don't bring raccoons. But you don't have to bring anything, Just bring your vibes.

Speaker 3:

Good vibes, good vibes only.

Speaker 2:

Why not? Because other people should.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh. Anyways, happy new year oh yeah, happy new year 2024.

Speaker 3:

2020.

Speaker 2:

It's weird, right To say.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm still not used to it. I feel like I'm still in 2020,. I think.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes, okay, that kind of makes sense. Four years ago I got stuck before COVID.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, pre-covid, pre-covid.

Speaker 2:

That was a. Thing.

Speaker 1:

Just we didn't have a good year. We did not or a few.

Speaker 3:

We totally did not Few good years.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, the panini was something different, yeah.

Speaker 3:

The panini.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the pandemic, the panini.

Speaker 1:

You never heard about it you never, heard this one.

Speaker 3:

You're my little man.

Speaker 2:

You guys don't know anything about culture. I'm over here telling you about Nanalan.

Speaker 3:

They were too old.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, sorry, nanalan.

Speaker 2:

I don't think that's it. I just think you're uncultured.

Speaker 3:

Possibly yeah.

Speaker 1:

We don't know what's about your culture.

Speaker 2:

We're a little separate from that. Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 1:

Anyways, what are we going to talk about on our first episode? Back First episode.

Speaker 2:

back are resolutions.

Speaker 1:

New Year's resolutions Do you guys believe in them. Yeah, you make New Year's resolutions.

Speaker 2:

I have started to. That's nothing crazy, but yes, I do believe in it and I do make resolutions. Okay, yeah.

Speaker 3:

I usually did before and I stopped this year. Actually, why?

Speaker 2:

Who traumatized you.

Speaker 1:

Who hurt you. It was the New Year that makes sense, the New Freakin'.

Speaker 2:

Year.

Speaker 3:

No, I decided that every resolution I set for myself is going to start on my birthday. Okay, so that's technically my New Year. I love that. And I won't do it on January 1st, but instead August Love that?

Speaker 1:

Did everybody hear that August 6th?

Speaker 2:

Also, she likes gifts in forms of money.

Speaker 3:

Any type of currency. I always said Thank you.

Speaker 2:

Pistols, pistols, pistols. Blue moves. Tell us more. I'm just kidding. Love them too. Anyways, yes, I don't. I don't like New Year's resolutions. Have you ever made them? Yeah, yeah, this year I decided to.

Speaker 1:

The reason why I don't like them now is because I've made them before and I think they just pressure people. I think we already have so much pressure and so many things to worry about. And then we add more like oh, weight loss or all these other things that we add to our lives. With the resolutions, I feel like a lot of the times they can turn into a negative thing. At least in my experience, they were more negative than a positive.

Speaker 3:

Because you felt the pressure and you couldn't. Do you think it was maybe because you were setting too many or they weren't being very realistic?

Speaker 1:

Yes to both.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it was also expected to make them unrealistic, you know like wish for the stars, sort of thing. Yeah, I feel like that's the feeling that I got whenever, like resolutions were mentioned.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think a lot of the times is like. I think one of the main resolutions as we were reading today it's weight loss and like fitness and as somebody that struggle with that, like I always was like I'm going to lose 50 pounds by March.

Speaker 3:

And I was like girl.

Speaker 1:

That's not healthy. That's not something you should do.

Speaker 2:

And then you couldn't like do something, you'd beat yourself down Exactly.

Speaker 1:

And then you see all these commercials on TV about how you can lose 20 pounds in just one month and you can join this gym and you can, you know, and so then there's all these pressures to do all these things, so I feel I always felt extra pressured.

Speaker 2:

It's been very commercialized, yeah, and in a way that it's being it's taking advantage of people. I 100% agree.

Speaker 1:

Yes, one of the other ones that was hard and I think I struggle with this one is saving money, because I feel like a lot of people don't make a lot of money, right, and as much as you're trying to save, if you're living paycheck to paycheck, you can't save. You know, like it's not, like you can be like oh yeah, I'm living, here's my paycheck and I'm not going to pay this bill to save $100. So I can have.

Speaker 1:

You know, like that's sometimes it's so unrealistic I'm not going to have electricity, but I have $100.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Fun Damn.

Speaker 2:

Now.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to go have a collections and all these things, I don't know. I always felt this weird pressure about saving and I was always like, oh, I'm only getting paid this much and I don't have enough.

Speaker 2:

And there's always these calculations oh, 60% is going to go towards this, 40% is going to go towards that, or like maybe it was 20 and then the other 20 was going towards savings. A lot of people can't do that and like people are pushing it down and saying you have to do this in order to live a financial like a financially sound life. I'm not sure how to phrase that, but that's how it's being pressured on as well.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think that should actually be a topic for a future episode, like money and savings and that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I'd like to do that.

Speaker 1:

I love that. Yeah, yeah, I hate the well, don't buy coffee or don't buy you know like if those $5 we're going to change your life.

Speaker 3:

I mean, I guess no, no, no, I guess they could Right If you're directed towards something else that you want to to an extent like yes, maybe don't spend like $50.

Speaker 2:

It's on like in a week for coffee.

Speaker 1:

Right, like, don't be like. Yeah, I was going to say five, five, 10, and she's like 45.

Speaker 3:

We got to start somewhere. I don't think you have to deprive yourself of anything. I don't think you have to, but if you do have a goal of saving money, then you can find ways here and there, even though it's freaking hard, as we know. In realistic goals. Realistic goals Like yeah, maybe if you're going to get coffee every like, maybe two or three days a week, maybe just like usually I do it either on Monday or Friday, because it's either like hard Monday or reward myself. Yeah, like that Right.

Speaker 1:

Or just do it on Monday and Friday and not Tuesday.

Speaker 3:

I mean, if you're doing that, then that's a great start. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

But no, I've learned that a lot of people are doing less for their resolutions this year. Because, a lot of people are taking note of that. Pressure like this not random because it's not random, it's being, I guess, pressured by capitalism. I guess.

Speaker 3:

Your number one enemy. We're getting there.

Speaker 2:

Anyways now, but like all of these things being pressured for you to make a change, make a drastic change, and people are starting to take a note of like, hey, that's not possible and we're creating a lot more issues, sometimes by adding all of these things and then not being able to work on your issues at all or not being able to work on your resolution at all. So I think it's good that us, as a society, we're starting to notice that less is more.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think also the perspective from which we're looking at it is like you're not enough or you're not doing enough or you're not saving enough or you're not losing enough weight. We kind of have to like, shift it to, maybe like a growth mindset instead of thinking of like a deficit.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I love that, yeah, and celebrate what you have accomplished. Exactly so if you are able to save $10 a week celebrate that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's $10 a week.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, that's $10.

Speaker 3:

That you didn't have saved before. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2:

But I did save.

Speaker 3:

Okay, do you want to share what they are with us?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they're simple, because in the past I used to make a list, I used to make a whole list, and so this year I was like two or three.

Speaker 1:

How many did you have before how?

Speaker 2:

many.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, great minds.

Speaker 2:

I would have maybe five or a hundred. No, I would say five to ten, okay, and then I would feel bad if I didn't get to like a certain amount either. Like I'm supposed to have these many resolutions, why don't I?

Speaker 3:

Like you're not thinking big enough to like, okay, you're not ambitious enough.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, I was feeling like that and I was like this year, I'm like, no, I'm going to keep it simple. And so my resolution is to exercise more and to spend less.

Speaker 1:

Okay, those are great resolutions.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's it, I think, what helps whenever you're creating like resolutions or goals for yourself. It's kind of have like little steps that you can start following, so it's not just like an abstract idea.

Speaker 2:

Exactly.

Speaker 3:

But steps that you can see and visualize and actually do.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and so actually I've started moving a lot more, and I've started with doing yoga at least twice a week.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I love that, I know.

Speaker 2:

And like, if I don't do it one day, I still do, I still pressure myself. I'm like oh my gosh, I didn't do it this week.

Speaker 3:

I didn't know, I didn't do it this day. What am?

Speaker 2:

I going to do? What am I going to feel? And I'm like, okay, calm down, you have a couple more days. I have a couple more days and my goal right now is that yoga at least twice a week. We'll start increasing it after that. But, right now, try not to like pressure yourself too much, yeah, and then spending Well. Still working on that one Well, but I started the process of paying off one of my credit cards and I paid off a big chunk of it.

Speaker 1:

Nice.

Speaker 2:

Yay, I paid off like 80% off of it.

Speaker 1:

Nice.

Speaker 2:

It was yeah, it was bad and exhilarating and all that fun stuff.

Speaker 1:

Can you use it again? No, put it away, put it away.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to freeze it.

Speaker 3:

I'm going to freeze it, you're going to pull it like a literal block of water. What's that?

Speaker 2:

movie where they do that, the Confessions of a Shopaholic One of my favorite movies, by the way. Yeah, obviously, yeah, I'm going to. I don't know if that's the plan yet, but yes, I've started doing that and hopefully that helps me save more, because eventually I'm not going to be spending as much on the payments. Yeah, so that's what I'm working with right now.

Speaker 3:

You know what you could do, what Tell me. You could have somebody else choose your pin and you won't know it. So you won't be able to like buy anything because you don't know what it is until you guess it right.

Speaker 2:

No, it's a credit card, though it's easy, all you do is pass it yeah. And I know my credit card number two. Jeez, I memorized my debit card and my credit card, maybe.

Speaker 3:

I don't really know my phone number.

Speaker 1:

Maybe have them give you a new card with a new number.

Speaker 2:

That you don't know. That's a good point. Actually, once I pay it off, I'm going to do that. Do it right now. Do it right now. Too much pressure.

Speaker 3:

We're talking about not pressuring yourself.

Speaker 1:

I was like do it right now, do it Chase right now.

Speaker 3:

Let's change it up.

Speaker 1:

No, I still haven't memorized.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know that I like it, though I feel like we you said really good resolutions like your expectations, like you already have so many pressures in your life going on like every day, with like.

Speaker 3:

Whatever you have, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1:

So what you're adding to your resolution is something that's gonna only help you. Exercise of movement is so good for your body. It helps with anxiety, helps with so many things, and so you're only adding to your life. Saving is also or less spending is also such a good thing for you, like it's just gonna help you build credit. It's gonna help you, like, have a little yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm sure you do.

Speaker 1:

You've always been working on your credit. You've always been so proud of your credit, but you know like help you build a beat in a place where you can get your own house, where you can Exactly, you know, do the things that you need to do. So I feel like those are very realistic and they're not Too much.

Speaker 2:

No, I don't think so, because I feel like I'm starting small, in a small way.

Speaker 3:

But there is not small, it's, it's huge, but I like the way you said it. I think you said moving your body more instead of.

Speaker 2:

I really like that. Yeah, cuz it's, I don't know. I feel like now that I'm getting older, I feel it more as a younger one in the room.

Speaker 3:

Young, go ahead.

Speaker 2:

This is 2024 I was born in 1994, I turn 30 this year, I know that's so exciting. I feel old party, oh party.

Speaker 1:

I'm in for it. I have to find a babysitter.

Speaker 2:

No, but yes. That's. The goal is to move more, because I want to stretch my body, I want to be able to, I don't know. I want to live a healthier lifestyle and I think with that one thing by starting a little bit more movement. That's gonna help me out.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I love that for you. Thanks, I'll shade up.

Speaker 1:

Are you thinking of resolutions?

Speaker 3:

Your new year, I feel like usually they're pretty similar. It's usually always related to like health and weight. Last year I was able to lose some weight, so I feel like, just maybe trying to maintain a healthy-ish lifestyle, I also need to stop eating dairy, but I can't. I can't do it. I don't know how to do it.

Speaker 2:

I started implementing more lactate on my life. The little pills, bro, I have lactate.

Speaker 3:

What happened? It does not work.

Speaker 2:

Really Like one or two. I take two, I take two. I'm like fuck it.

Speaker 3:

I take two Pop pop, mm-hmm. Yeah, that's what I do it does not work for me. Oh gosh, and I feel like I'm killing myself slowly, like internally.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I get you. I'm also starting to feel more back in the day when I was younger.

Speaker 3:

In my prime when I was 28 last fucking year.

Speaker 2:

I didn't feel it as much. I feel like I could be. I could be more. Uh, I can eat more junk food and more dairy and stuff like that and I would be like, oh yeah, I have an upset stomach. It's gonna go away in a couple hours no not no more.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, not no more. Yeah, that's, that's one.

Speaker 2:

No I mean.

Speaker 3:

I'm the same with the gluten.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's true, never mind, sorry about that, yeah, I feel like I'm getting more Sensitive Old.

Speaker 3:

What is this? It's not funny.

Speaker 1:

I don't want to play this anymore.

Speaker 2:

We were also talking about being taken by a black hole. Are you interested in that?

Speaker 3:

Not right now. I'll get back to you next week things might change.

Speaker 2:

I mean, this is like a couple centuries, but what if it happens?

Speaker 3:

in our lifetime. You know, you never know, you never know. We already had a pandemic, so I I already happens, yeah but, anyways.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's usually what I do.

Speaker 3:

I was thinking I want to read more, and that's usually also something that I try to do, at least like one book a month or something.

Speaker 2:

But oh, that's a lot.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think somebody else already told me about that?

Speaker 1:

Oh, I'm not good at reading.

Speaker 2:

It sounds sad. Is this sad? No it's, it's a great Okay, okay, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Um, I'm not great at reading, but I'm really good at audiobooks.

Speaker 3:

So I've been listening great.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've been listening to some, and so little spin, so good.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I have a new. A new bestie who recommended that book is actually in my weight list and Mexican got, mexican got, okay, cool.

Speaker 1:

Okay, sorry.

Speaker 2:

You guys everybody should read those too. They're so good, I'm writing it down. Yeah, yeah, we should start a book club.

Speaker 1:

Let's do it. No-transcript, you and I can do it.

Speaker 2:

You guys can read it to me though.

Speaker 1:

You can just listen to it.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, I'll just listen to you guys talk about it. I mean, like the, what's the call? The?

Speaker 1:

audio books exist.

Speaker 2:

Give me the cliff notes of the audio book. Do you like audio books? I don't listen, but I should. I don't have nothing to do with this.

Speaker 3:

You listen in general.

Speaker 2:

It's just not one of your qualities. It's not one of her strengths. I have selective hearing. That is my strength.

Speaker 1:

I have a very selective hearing.

Speaker 2:

Like anything unimportant in one out the other. Anything that matters to me, I'll give you attention to it. Yeah, got it. So what were we talking about?

Speaker 1:

Resolutions Nancy's going to read more. Nancy's going to read more.

Speaker 2:

That's awesome, but I think one is that a lot for you? Does it feel comfortable? No, that's definitely doable.

Speaker 3:

Just right now because I'm working a lot. I don't have a lot of time, but I feel like if I use the time that I have to read instead of being like on social media, that would change my mind a little bit.

Speaker 2:

And that was another goal, wasn't it?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, less social media. Well, you guys know I've been like on hiatus here and there from social media. It's just a lot. Sometimes it's too much. But follow us on Instagram.

Speaker 2:

I'm on Facebook, you can TikTok.

Speaker 1:

Now I'm on Facebook. You was a follow in the like, at least I'm the one.

Speaker 2:

I do have a goal to do that someday, not right now.

Speaker 1:

You're not ready to let go of social media.

Speaker 2:

I'm not ready to let go of Instagram. I'm not.

Speaker 3:

You're being realistic about that.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, I'm listening, but, yes, that is eventually. I want to be more strict with that and let go more social media, but if you hit us up through Instagram, I will answer you. Yeah, she does. I'll be an asshole about it, but no, she's not.

Speaker 3:

If it's a mean comment back at Stana, so just a yes you might like your fault.

Speaker 1:

You started it.

Speaker 2:

I'm a continual. This is where I'm debating, getting on a tick tock. I'm going to be arguing with people and then I'm going to be like I'm going to exit out of the app and be like living my best life, and then that person is just going to stay there.

Speaker 3:

I don't know if I see a lot of people arguing. A lot of people's comments on tick tock are hilarious.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, comments are really funny. Most of the reason why people are on tick tock because of their comments.

Speaker 3:

So you might actually do great in that setting. No that environment.

Speaker 2:

Thanks, though, thanks for thinking for me, about me, for me, a little bit of both, a little bit of both, anyways, yes, that's another popular one, and then yeah, no, I think the weight loss saving, saving money and less social media time were the main resolutions that people make at the beginning of the year.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Do you guys watch TV like live TV and like live shows and stuff like that? Not anymore. No, yeah, I don't watch it anymore, but like I remember back in the day of this being a huge conversation around the new years, less TV, yeah, exactly, and then just overall yeah, I don't really.

Speaker 1:

We didn't have social media back then.

Speaker 3:

No, but now I watch a lot of Netflix, blue, hbo show time.

Speaker 1:

She's like it's not live, but I'm still watching it.

Speaker 3:

It's still a problem for me? No, actually not anymore. I work.

Speaker 2:

You know what the problem is All of the subscriptions that we have to yeah, yeah Instead of cable, and then we have to all these subscriptions Mm, hmm, blah.

Speaker 1:

We're just prepping you for your daily shit. I love it.

Speaker 2:

Anyways. But yes, I feel like we used to get a lot of these Mentioned like oh, you should start this, this and that. So I don't know if it's still happening on right now. I really hope it isn't.

Speaker 3:

But I doubt it. Are there any like fun or crazy ones that you've ever heard for New Year's? New Year's no.

Speaker 2:

No One year. I wanted to be more interested, and then? I did become more interested.

Speaker 3:

I was going to say and you made it, you did it, I did Now we're here. What was your plan for that?

Speaker 2:

I just wanted to have more on my plate. Okay, I feel like I was just working and I was like, okay, I need hobbies.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I need to start new things. Yeah, people say hobbies as well too. Yeah, yeah for sure, I actually.

Speaker 2:

well, good point. I think you were bringing that up, because I actually want to do? Was I looking at you? I want to do less, because I always see new things. That's interesting. No, no.

Speaker 3:

I'm down to interest. You know what? That's a good point.

Speaker 2:

Because then people start getting like too nosy and I'm like stay away. I'm just kidding. I want to do less hobbies, Not only because I spend a lot of money on it, but what are your hobbies? Crafting, Love crafting. And then I see a new project. I'm like buy everything for it.

Speaker 1:

They know, that's hard.

Speaker 2:

Like what Like. For example, I wanted to make a little suncatcher. Okay, I'm looking at all the beads, all sizes of beads, all the wire, the hoop, the hooks, like all the pendants.

Speaker 1:

And then you bought them all, didn't you? I didn't, I didn't.

Speaker 2:

I had a Michaels list and I erased it. My goal is to finish one of the other projects that I have Good for you, and maybe later on we can start this one once you've done it that one was difficult. That one has been really difficult Because it's so nice buying these Look what I made for you.

Speaker 3:

Let me see.

Speaker 1:

I have it right. Here Is these two. Oh, my God. I made this myself Made my last tummy More free, more free. Yeah, that's my, that's another one actually, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm just gonna bring that up oh.

Speaker 1:

Jerome bought me a cutter, a cricket cutter, and once I learned how, to use it. It was like let me buy this, let me buy that, let me spend on this let me spend on that. I'm like, well, now, what am I?

Speaker 1:

going to do with all these cups of it. I made all this stuff. What do I do with it? Okay, but you're selling them. Yeah, now I am, yeah, yeah, but I'm not going to buy it. I'm not going to buy it. I'm not going to buy it, I'm not going to buy it, I am.

Speaker 3:

Sometimes I wish I was more artistic, but then I'm like, no, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

You just have to start.

Speaker 3:

Oh, you know my other. I forgot resolution this year. I want to learn how to swim, because I don't know how to swim. Oh my gosh, that's a great resolution cause when we went to Miami and she was in the ocean.

Speaker 1:

I was freaking out cause I who was?

Speaker 2:

in the ocean you.

Speaker 1:

How's that? Come closer? Please come closer. This way, you don't know how to swim.

Speaker 2:

Didn't you feel like you wanted to explore? Cause I've done that, I've been to the beach and I'm like, ooh, let's explore, let's try.

Speaker 1:

Please don't. If you don't know how to swim, don't try to explore in the ocean.

Speaker 3:

Do you think I did this? Yes, oh, okay, I'm sorry.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry I caused stress to you.

Speaker 3:

I'm just chilling out here.

Speaker 2:

In the middle her chin down.

Speaker 1:

I'm fine, I love that resolution for you. I think this is a great one. Yes.

Speaker 3:

And now I'm thinking of everything I want to do this.

Speaker 2:

Let's do it.

Speaker 3:

I want to learn how to play either violin or viola.

Speaker 2:

Wow, do you have any training in instruments? None whatsoever. Can that read?

Speaker 3:

music. That's why it's a new resolution you don't read music either. No, can I learn?

Speaker 2:

Yes, Most definitely Fuck yeah exactly. I've heard it's another language, so I feel like you'd be fine, like, basically another language. That's very bold, and to want to learn to play an instrument you've never even touched before At your age.

Speaker 1:

At your age I can feel fears coming down my eyes from that stab wound that I just received on my back.

Speaker 2:

No, I just did it to your face At your age. She was looking at me straight in the eyes too.

Speaker 3:

Wow.

Speaker 1:

I'm kidding. I love you. I'm gonna have to get you.

Speaker 2:

Jerome, can I have the deep voice please? I'm practicing. You're eating. That's how it sounds, dude.

Speaker 1:

Evil, exactly.

Speaker 3:

I'm sorry, I love you.

Speaker 2:

You're right, though You're right, that makes it more impressive.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's going to be great. I was so excited you stood up for me. I'm sorry, I'm kidding. Let's go buy a violin right now. Jerome used to play Violin. What? Bring it out right now. Violin or violin.

Speaker 2:

And I'm sorry. What's the?

Speaker 1:

difference Violin or violin, violin, violin.

Speaker 2:

And is it just like a size difference? That was one it's called viola and the other one's violin. I think so right. I'm not for like, I don't know for sure, but I think that's the difference, yeah. Anyways impressive and I hope it works out for you.

Speaker 1:

It's going to work out for you. Just a lot of practice. I'm going to do great.

Speaker 3:

Your old age. She's going to go get a triangle.

Speaker 2:

I know I'm the violin, but here's my triangle. Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 3:

I'm so excited, I'm so excited for you, yes, you have to come and bring us the first concert at the podcast.

Speaker 2:

I love that. I love that. I love that, I love that, I love that, I love that I love that.

Speaker 1:

I love that.

Speaker 3:

I love that Coming 2030. 2025.

Speaker 1:

2026. Stay tuned Until 2027.

Speaker 3:

No ETA, yeah right, you know, we'll be determined. Actually, tbd, tbd.

Speaker 2:

I think, one of the things that I have learned by not making a resolution. I think that's the best thing about it. I think that's the best thing about it.

Speaker 1:

I think that's the best thing about it. I think that's the best thing about it. Yeah, we're both invited to work on that, because, no, I'm not Good to learn by not making a resolution is to kind of if I find something that I did really good or that I'm proud of myself for doing during the year. Try to keep it going for the for the next year or like, just make it a priority in my life to be like part of who I am.

Speaker 1:

So like make it a habit, yeah, so movement Like I've noticed that when I work out it helps with my anxiety.

Speaker 1:

So, that's something that I've been trying to take with me, instead of making it a new year resolution for me, because it never worked in the past. It's a new year resolution. I'm always like this feels good, and remember the feeling you get when you're done with it, and remember how you feel when you're doing it often, then I always take it with me, and that's like, though, the thing. Since I don't want to put that added pressure, I try to find things along the year that I can bring with me to the next.

Speaker 2:

I like that, yeah, I like that a lot. Be more mindful. You know what I'm going to add that as a resolution. Be more mindful, yeah.

Speaker 3:

You can't take somebody else's resolution.

Speaker 2:

You can't even say it with a straight face and I'm writing it down. Taken. Now Be more mindful.

Speaker 3:

Is there going to be the thing this, this season?

Speaker 1:

Mindful instead of self-aware. Yeah, I like it Mindful.

Speaker 2:

That's a good one. I hope that is the. Uh, the. That's who, that's who, what? Who said you're welcome? I don't know, anyways. Anyways, yeah, I wrote down cause I do want to make it. What I want to notice like small things that are making a good difference in my life it doesn't have to be a huge thing.

Speaker 1:

There are those small things that you do that you pick up to throughout the year. They were like this feels good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I like that. I keep it going. Yeah, yeah, more drugs. If I don't do any now, I feel like I should start.

Speaker 3:

Let's not Cause they've made you feel good before, so you want to feel good again.

Speaker 2:

I don't know about that. I've never done drugs before, exactly For anybody listening.

Speaker 3:

She has never, ever, ever ever ever, Jerome say it.

Speaker 2:

No, I've never done that, so like I should start, let's not.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, maybe the whole movement and yoga thing sounds like a great start.

Speaker 3:

And if I feel like the drugs and the mindfulness don't go together.

Speaker 2:

So maybe it's on different, yeah, different direction. Yeah, maybe not that one. Let's not add that one then, yeah.

Speaker 3:

Don't write it though.

Speaker 2:

I did not.

Speaker 1:

actually we're not going to make it official. Okay, was there something you missed about a recording? Like, was there like a segment you missed? Like, was there something you missed about recording?

Speaker 3:

The only thing I missed about recording was the Margaritas that Jerome would make us. Other than that, no nothing else there was a segment that sometimes is kind of cool.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, yeah, I mean, what was it called? You guys suck. We super missed your segment. So let's do some Diana's Daily shit.

Speaker 2:

Welcome back, bitches. Full force Control. Wait, I'm just kidding. I'm not going to say the B word, I'm going to say witches.

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's a little late, maybe for the next episode.

Speaker 3:

I was not going to say for the next year.

Speaker 2:

No, I was giving her I was next year. Sounds better actually. Anyways, what are we going to talk about?

Speaker 1:

this. What are you mad about? I'm not on the first year, I'm the first few months of the year.

Speaker 2:

I have a couple things written down, but right now we're going to cover Gypsy Rose who's more mad about it? I don't, I'm kind of like letting it be, but the only thing that kind of worries me about society is the, I guess, lack of awareness of the actions that she could have taken, yeah, prior to the murder.

Speaker 3:

Okay, like what.

Speaker 2:

Um, like you can help with a provider. He had many visits.

Speaker 1:

Well, can I get in on this? I'm angry about this Go for it I'm going. I feel okay. So you and I, nancy, are all about crime stories and like all these things right. So I've known about Gypsy Rose for a while. I kind of been. I watched the show Following the story, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so, like one of the things that really has like me going crazy is that we're giving her all this attention and and I know this poor girl has gone through so much trauma that her mom put her in terrible places, that her mom did awful things to her and she at one point did not see a way out like trauma dustings your mind but why? Why are we making her so famous? And I feel like if you had a plan, like if you were able to make a plan to kill your mom, you should have also been able to make a plan to have this guy call the police and help you in another way.

Speaker 1:

Like an escape plan Right Like why was murder the only choice?

Speaker 3:

I think maybe in her mind there was no other choice. I think it's really difficult to understand the kind of trauma that you go through living in a situation like that. So I think I can empathize. I mean, I would never think about killing anyone, but anyone Anyway it's with anyone. But I just don't see how I can judge that part of the story because I can't imagine how fucking horrible it was for her.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, my thing is that maybe she was so traumatized and I mean maybe to this day she probably still is that she reached out to this individual who was not in his right mind. In the show and the one on Hulu, they portrayed him as like a sweet, shy guy. So apparently he was not very sweet, he was not very shy, he had a criminal record already. Oh yeah, he had some sort of past already there's just the show portrayed him in a different way. But so maybe she in a way felt comfortable with this individual because he was not in his right mind and technically she wasn't in her right mind and could have been, possibly from all the drugs that she had to take and all the treatments that she had To me.

Speaker 2:

Could there been another choice? Yes, possibly, possibly. But like you said, nancy, we don't know her mindset, we don't know how her mind was altered, because, of the trauma. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Because of the trauma, because of the medication, right. I think it was just very unfortunate that she met someone who was so damaged and willing to do something like that and helped her carry on that plan Instead of like, hey, I'm going to go to the police.

Speaker 2:

Let me help you by going to the police, or let's run away together, or the plan yes.

Speaker 1:

It was just like very misfortunate.

Speaker 3:

Is that unfortunate? Yeah, unfortunate, unfortunate.

Speaker 1:

And I think, like the thing that makes me mad right now about her is that we're giving her so much like fame, Like this. This girl has gone through so much in her life and like now she has a TikTok and Instagram and people just like trying to take pictures with her and like she's a celebrity. But look, the thing is.

Speaker 2:

I wouldn't give her a full salon celebrity status.

Speaker 3:

No, and I think like good for her for making money right now. Honestly is not going to last.

Speaker 1:

It's not so I feel like, for as long as she can, if it helps For her well-being, I feel like that's the worst thing that could be happening to her right now.

Speaker 3:

She did say in an interview that she like goes to therapy and everything. So hopefully those things are helping her. But I just find it difficult, like how? How is she going to make money right now? Excuse me, so I mean, if she can do that, then she's married, she has a partner, can take advantage of you know, excuse me making money. I don't know, that's just my thought. I feel bad for her.

Speaker 1:

I feel bad for her. I feel bad for her.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Like, if you're like, it's going to be like a rise and then get to a peak and she's going to fall down.

Speaker 1:

Yeah for sure, and society's going to do what they do. She's going to say something and then they're going to torture her and they're going to cancel her and they're going to give her more trauma and no, that is a sad part about, that's the sad reality about our life right now, our society as a whole.

Speaker 2:

That will. You know, we have the power to put someone up and then bring them right back down and destroy them.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, that's what social media does right now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so hopefully you know what's done is done.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That lady is dead. Unfortunately I don't. This is terrible, I don't feel too bad yeah.

Speaker 3:

She just needed a lot of help.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she needed a lot of help, but once done is done and hopefully she just gets to live a normal ish life. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Hopefully she's healing. That's who.

Speaker 1:

And hopefully we stop being so obsessed with crime stuff.

Speaker 3:

Like I am, you know, like the thing is.

Speaker 2:

I'm one of them, me too.

Speaker 1:

I'm one of them. I'm, I'm.

Speaker 2:

I'm used to be different, though it used to be like more people weren't as obsessed with it yeah, but it's everywhere.

Speaker 1:

And not only is it giving us more anxiety and making us live like a different life, but I feel like the victims have to relive this over and over again, and I think about the sport girl's family and, like her mother's family, and what they have seen and what they have gone through, and it's like here we are talking about it nonstop, all the time, and you know so. We need to get it together too.

Speaker 2:

Not me though.

Speaker 3:

Everybody else but you.

Speaker 2:

It's exactly right. Anyways, we started, rage filled and we kind of Melod out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was Nancy, you're welcome.

Speaker 2:

Anyways.

Speaker 1:

She wants nothing from Nancy.

Speaker 3:

Unless you're welcome.

Speaker 2:

You got it. You're welcome. But no, I'm glad that we have this conversation. I'm glad that you got your rage out.

Speaker 1:

Yes, thank you.

Speaker 2:

Um, we got to a point where, hopefully, she lives a good life.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yeah, yeah, stay set of trouble.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, she'll need to stay out of the limelight after all of this.

Speaker 2:

If you were in that situation, would you be excited to be out and about in society and social media and stuff like that? I don't think.

Speaker 1:

I'd be in that situation.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

I probably wouldn't.

Speaker 2:

I don't, I don't. I personally don't know exactly how she's doing it, because I feel like I would be she's already been in that like light, like ever since everything went down with her mom. She's like got interviewed and Good point, good point. We've always had some sort of eye on her.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, with the shows and everything, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And the shows giving her money like? I don't think so. Oh so who's the money going to? Producers directors.

Speaker 2:

I don't actually Because it's her story. They got it from the news. They should just be like oh yeah, this is what we got from them.

Speaker 1:

Police reports, all that fun stuff, because that would have been a good way to make money.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I hope so.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like I thought about it, I was like wait, did she get any money from all these shows and all these things that I have no idea, yeah, but anyways.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, I hope she lives a healthy life. I say that with all sincerity.

Speaker 1:

And empathy Sounded like it.

Speaker 2:

In the most monotone voice ever.

Speaker 1:

Do you guys have any closing thoughts on New Year's resolutions?

Speaker 2:

Minus, to be more mindful. Yeah, that's what I plan to do this year. I love it, anyways.

Speaker 3:

Minus to say you're welcome less.

Speaker 1:

Not everyone appreciates my input all the time.

Speaker 3:

No, I'm just kidding, I think, just not being so hard on ourselves and, like I said, if you make a goal or a resolution, try to like create small steps that you know you can achieve and be realistic about the goals that you're setting for yourself, because otherwise it's just more negative than positive.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I say you don't need New Year's resolutions. Let's say you set goals for your life and life just makes things happen or it doesn't, and then you move on and sometimes you just have to do a different goal or take a different route. But just don't I like the idea of the New Year's resolutions, I don't like the pressure of them. You know, just don't pressure yourself for resolutions, and do your best and that's all you can do.

Speaker 2:

Do the best you can with what you got. Yep, I got one son and lover for her.

Speaker 1:

That's her.

Speaker 3:

Let's chat to Mariah Carey, all right?

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you for listening to her first episode. Second season here we go.

Speaker 2:
